Iris Bernblum (b.1975) is an artist living and working in Chicago, IL. Her work moves fluidly across disciplines, and is deeply invested in interrogating the boundaries of the self via sculpture, painting, drawing, video and performance. Her work plays with a kind of radical honesty; a self-examination informed by the mechanized, transactional systems within which we find and reckon with ourselves.

Bernblum received her BFA at SAIC in 1997, and her MFA from Columbia University in 2001. She has shown nationally and internationally and has had numerous shows including Aspect/Ratio Gallery, Goldfinch Projects, and The Arts Club in Chicago. The Brooklyn International Film Festival, September Gallery, Artist’s Space and The Elizabeth Foundation in New York; and The Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio and Bombon Projects in Barcelona. In 2023 she was among Newcity’s Top 50 Chicago Artists.
